Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation done lying down. This practice is just over 30 minutes. When practiced regularly, you learn to rest in the state between being awake and asleep. This is the hypnogogic state. You move into the alpha wave for an extended period of time~ 20-30 mins, this is said to be equal to 4 or 5 hours of sleep.
